Home sweet Home

At the moment I cant stop thinking about getting my first home and all the fun ways I can decorate it, Ive always been a home maker type of girl, all my friends would say I'm like the mother hen with a a bit of a twist lol, I do like a wild night out don't get me wrong, but as I'm nearly 24 decorating a house with my own cat seems like perfection, Calum seems excited about my plans too so that's good, Ive told him he just needs to make some money and then I can go and spent it at car boot sales and turn the house into my dream vintage pad. Ive always loved feature walls and these are some of my favs, I find a feature wall has a lot more character and a sense of personal identity than wallpaper, with the added fun of searching for bits to add to it. You can pick up so many lovely plates and tapestry's for relatively little money and create stunning individual installations in your own home. I think feature walls look really great in dining rooms as a real conversation point, you could also group together photos and mementos from holidays and trips away to make it like a personal moodboard.
Ive always loved moodboards and at uni they were my favourite stage int he design process, collating images into themes excites me maybe a little too much. Here are some Ive done recently. Poor Calums going to live in a very girly home but I'm sure he wont mind as long as it makes me happy, Well I hope so. Ive collected so many things over the last few years it will be great to start putting them into their rightful setting.

  1. I love a feature wall! Some of the best I have seen have been with different clocks, or collections of postcards - quirky and personal at the same time! Any tips on how best to keep postcards up and stop them from forever falling down?

  2. Hello miss Davis, Oh bells I think they may be on every wall in my house if Mum let me. Its a hard question that it depends on whether you are concerned about the walls behind them, because I take it blue tac isnt working? so I would try double sided tape, or those squidgy double sided pads and use those. lots of love xxxx
